A significant opportunity area within the minority communities is often lack of resources to allow for effective personal and professional development. A formal mentoring program enables experienced professionals in the IEC community to provide direction & guidance to younger members in several vital areas: applying to colleges, choosing a major, exploring traditional and non-traditional career paths, understanding career advancement and progression, resume writing, interviewing, public speaking, networking, identifying and obtaining internships, time management, leadership, complex decision making, navigating workplaces, understanding organizational cultures, Islamic values among others.

IEC is working with Young Adult professionals from within the community to build and implement a robust mentoring program that will establish and facilitate mentor-mentee relationships and conduct periodic workshops.
